The Northern Audio Producers Network was setup by Ami Gill and Carl Hartley in October 2024 following an event hosted at the University of Leeds. The event was organised as an opportunity to bring academia and industry closer together. It saw industry speakers and academics share research and experience.
Following the event Ami and Carl shared their experiences of working as a freelance in the world of audio; discussed the lack of networking opportunities in the north of England; and agreed that a community to support independent audio creators was needed.
The group is here to support anyone in the audio industry with advice, development and collaboration opportunities, and networking events. The community is for anyone at any level of the audio industry in the north of England.
